iBoot® Original Version with Hub

This version of iBoot has a built in hub to elinimate the need for a separate cable run for power control.

iBoot® is a 10/100 Ethernet network attached, IP addressed, Web Controlled power switch. Anyone with a web browser can access iBoot® to perform power On, Off or Reboot (timed power shutdown). iBoot® is password protected for security.

iBoot® for AC power uses international standard IEC320 Connections and is auto sensing for worldwide use. Line cord and Output Cord are included for North America. iBoot® handles circuits up to 12 Amps (10 Amps at 230VAC). iBoot®-DC supports 5 - 48VDC up to 12 Amps.

Just point your browser to iBoot's IP address, enter the Password and you're one click away from power ON, OFF or a timed Reboot.  It's that simple.

The unique Auto-Ping feature allows iBoot® to monitor any IP device on the network and take automatic action whenever the device is down.

iBoot-Hub Original Version


This is the Original Version of the iBoot. There are several reasons to use this version:

  1. The built-in 2 port hub. This allows iBoot to be installed where there is only one cable run to the wiring closet and that run needs to support the iBoot and another device. This would be typical where the iBoot is being added to an existing system removed from the closest hub or switch.

  2. The two units use different protocols for machine to machine communication. If you have written code to communicate with the original iBoot, it will not work, without modifications with the "G2 Series" units. As these protocols are different, so are the software tools that are used for discovery, setup and control.
On the other hand, for customers who are not restricted by the two conditions above, the iBoot G2 Series offers several advantages:
  1. Significantly lower cost
  2. Time of Day Scheduling
  3. Enhanced AutoPing
  4. Telnet control and setup
In addition the iBoot-G2+ (1410035) unit offers these enhancements over the base iBoot-G2 (1410034)
  1. USB port for direct connection to a PC or laptop for out-of-band setup, control and heartbeat keepalive
  2. Graceful shutdown of Windows PCs and Servers
  3. Expansion port that can be used for connection to two low cost expansion units, providing up to three indignantly controllable power outlets. When the expansion units are not used the ports can be used as generic I/O or as manual control of the power outlet.

AutoPing

iBoot automatically monitors and protects your network. AutoPing continuously tests your connectivity to the internet or to any device on your network. When the network is down, or the device stops functioning, iBoot reboots the failed system to get you back on-line fast.

You have complete control of the AutoPing parameters, setting the frequency of the tests, the number of tests required to take action, and what action is to be taken when the failure is detected. Perfect for:

Heartbeat

The Heartbeat Function provides a deeper inspection of Windows based PCs and Servers. A service app is installed and continuously notifies the iBoot that all is well. When the heartbeat stops, the iBoot springs into action to do 'Computer CPR' to get the system back on-line.

The iBoot-G2+ can furthermore attempt a graceful shutdown or restart of the server to forestall a hard power cycle of shutdown.
