iBootBar Multi-Outlet Remote Power Control

iBootBar – 8 outlet remote power control


Automatic Monitoring and Management

iBootBar gives you the freedom to monitor, power down and reboot devices remotely. With configurable AutoPing, iBootBar can automatically detect an issue, reboot and restore downed devices quickly without you even having to lift a finger.

iBootBar's serial port and internal modem give you flexible, out-of-band control over devices through on-site command-line interface, as well as off-site through prompted, telephone dial-tone response. With iBootBar, even if the network goes down, you can check - from anywhere - if critical devices are still operating, and reboot them if they aren't.

iBootBar also continuously monitors current draw from its outlets, notifying you immediately of failure or excess loads, as determined by high and low current thresholds that you set.

Scalable Power Control

With optional dual power inlets, iBootBar is ideal for remotely rebooting devices with redundant power supplies. Simultaneously switch both supplies off and on for reboot, security or energy management. Each inlet is distributed to four outlets, which can be switched in pairs for redundant systems, or switched individually for higher current devices.

Up to 16 iBootBars can be linked together to control 128 outlets from a single IP address and web page. Groups and user rights across multiple iBootBars give you power management capabilities across your entire network.

iBootBar Operations


iBootBar – Simple web browser interface

The web browser interface provides the easiest means of managing multiple outlets. One master unit can be connected to 15 expansion units, managing 128 outlets from a single web page interface.

The web page presents a clear status indication of each outlet, current draw across all inputs and the AutoPing monitoring, if implemented.

Each outlet can be individually selected, or multiple outlets can be simultaneously operated. User selectable cycle timer allows single command reboot. Delay timer limits inrush current by staggering power up when multiple devices are simultaneously controlled.


iBootBar – User Rights Management

Up to 15 users can be identified, each with specific rights to one or more outlets, as well as administrator rights for programming the system. User rights can span multiple units, so that one user can command a specific outlet in each of several data cabinets. Users only see the outlets they have rights to. User rights function the same for both web browser control and the Telnet or serial command line interface.


iBootBar – Group outlets for maximum control

Two or more outlets can be grouped together for simultaneous action. Link all email servers together to reboot the entire system, or group both power feeds for dual redundant servers, and reboot the server with one command. Like outlets, groups are individually named and assigned to users as required. Group outlets across multiple iBootBars to simultaneously manage like devices across cabinets throughout your data center.


Dual Power Inlet Models

iBootBars with dual power feeds allow higher current devices to be supported. Put each power feed on separate circuits, and double the current capacity per unit.

Dual Power Inlet units can also support devices with dual redundant power supplies, with each supply run from a separate power source, alternate UPS, generator backup, etc.


Internal Modem

Models with the -M suffix have an internationally approved, internal modem. The modem supports both data connections for standard CLI out-of-band control, and DTMF tone dialing commands, for simple operation of the iBootBar from anywhere.

The Internal modem does not replace the serial port, but adds additional function to support remote access and control.


128 Outlet-Control

Link 16 iBootBars together with the Expansion Port and manage 128 outlets from as single IP Address and Web Page. Group outlets across racks to reboot multiple outlet simultaneously.

Assign users rights to similar devices throughout the data center. Use the expansion to conserve IP addresses, or connect each device to the network for additional access capabilities.


iBootBar – Setup and Control Utility

The iBootBar Setup and Control Utility allows simple management of an unlimited number of iBootBars in the field. All configuration parameters can be set, saved, cloned, uploaded and downloaded to or from any iBootBar. This makes it easy to make configuration changes to similar units, or to pre-configure many units prior to deployment. The Setup and Control Utility also provides secure power management for all outlets deployed worldwide.
