Dataprobe – 52 Years of Turning it On!

The 1893 Chicago World’s Fair illuminated American and international minds with the amazing potential of electrical power. With exhibits and demonstrations on display by brilliant minds like Edison and Tesla, visitors were enlightened by the wonders of electricity and how it could elevate business, culture, and the quality of life throughout the world. The Edison kinetoscope (an early version of a movie screen), the Morse Code telegraph, and electric sewing machines were all on display. For most visitors, it was the first time they had ever seen a light bulb.

On May 1, 1893, President Grover Cleveland pushed a button to light nearly 100,000 incandescent lamps to light up the City of Chicago and to demonstrate how this new technology would one day be available to people everywhere.

That was 128 years ago. Now, we can control electronic and digital devices anywhere in the world with a push of a button (presidential status not required) through our iBoot network power switches and power distribution units.

Advances in technology move faster than the speed of light. This month, Dataprobe celebrates its 52nd year in business. As always, we remain committed to keeping up with every technological evolution and revolution to provide our clients with the systems they need to keep the power and the lights on!

As we reflect and celebrate 52 years in business, we’d like to recognize and thank you, our customers, for your business, loyalty, and friendship. We look forward to seeing where technology will bring us over the next 52 years!
