These automatic switches are programmed to respond to a wide range of circuit conditions. By monitoring control and data events, these switches take care of rerouting circuits or switching to backup equipment for you.
Multiple leads from the A and B circuits can be monitored with logical AND/OR and Timer functions. For example, switch when the backup port DCD goes High and primary circuits DCD goes Low, or switch when there is no Receive Data on the primary port for 10 seconds.
Available in the following configurations:
Single A/B Standalone
Single or Dual A/B in 1U Rackmount
All configurations are available in 120VAC, 100-240VAC International, 48VDC or 24VDC versions.
One Model for both RS-232 and RS-530
RS-232 and RS-530

Automatic A/B Switch Configuration
Examples:
Configuration is made using wire jumpers to select the control or data signals to be monitored, and DIP switches to program the switching logic, timers, and other parameters.
Configuration of the A/B switches is done with simple wire jumpers and DIP switch settings. Jumpers select the control or data leads to be monitored, the DIP switch selects the control logic, timing delays and any special functions.
Four Simple Steps to Configuration
Determine the control signal source from the A,B,C connectors or an external signal.
Connect one end of the wire jumpers to the selected control signals
Connect these jumpers to the logic Input header
Set MODE Dip switch S1, to the desired switching logic
